Headed for Hoylake to see what waders were on show during the high tide then I promised Gem we could go crabbing back at the marine lake at West Kirby.
The Sun was shining at there were plenty of waders on show Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Curlew, Oystercatcher, Sanderling, and Knot we even had a Peregrine fly over to add to the spectacle. With the added excitement of seeing the launch of the Lifeboat and Hovercraft.

Summer Hols
Its been a while since I have posted anything, and to be honest apart from a trip out to see the Bee Eaters in Notts I have not done too much pure birding of late, more family days out with the odd bird seen along the way.
The same is true of our Summer Holiday over in Norfolk but not staying too far from Cley we did pop in during the evening for a walk before settling in for the evening. We did also squeeze in an hour at Titchwell on the way to the cottage as we couldn't get into mid afternoon.
High lights were a Marsh Harrier seen hawking over a field just outside Titchwell on our journey to the cottage, plus a Juv Water Rail that came out of the ditch in front of the hide at Cley never seen a juvenile before.
